Wide leg jeans with high waste are not only very trendy, they can be very flattering creating an illusion of an hourglass figure if they are tighter around the hips, and in full length they can create an elongating effect.

I love wearing mine with coats, I feel like I’m dressed up but still functional and chic. When I choose a printed coat or embellished one like in the first picture, I try to stay pretty neutral underneath to give space to the coat to do the talking. In the third picture I choose a trench coat and stripes underneath, a pretty classic combination, accessorized with mules and a cross over body bag with oversized chains and a bold color to add a chic and stylish effect. You can play around with the length and design of the coat, but given the fact that the jeans already have volume at the leg, avoid being too bulky.

My second favorite option is to wear them with a sweater or pullover. You can fully or partially tuck it in for a chic or asymmetrical look. You can add a statement scarf if the pullover is pretty neutral, like I did, using a long fringed scarf, in the same color. You can also wear a statement piece, with bold patterns or colors, without overwhelming the look. Feel free to play with the accessories, but try to stay in harmony!

Combine old pieces from your closet with new ones, be creative, give your clothes a chance to be seen with different eyes.
